AMPS POLICE BLOTTER (AUGUST 11, 2020)

Theft of Motor Vehicle, Breach of Probation X2 , Escape Lawful Custody
Cortlon J. Skidders, 22, of Akwesasne was arrested on August 10th, 2020 and charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle, Breach of Probation X 2, and Escape Lawful Custody. It is alleged that on August 8th, 2020, police received information that the male had reportedly taken a vehicle from a residence without the owner’s consent. On August 10th, 2020, Police located the male and placed him in custody for the theft of a motor vehicle, and breach of probation. While in police custody, the male fled on foot but was apprehended and transported to the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Station and held for a bail hearing. 

Warrant Execution
Tanisha J.M. Cook, 24, of Akwesasne was arrested on June 21st, 2020 for an outstanding arrest warrant. It is alleged on June 21st, 2020, police were conducting general patrols in Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island) when the female was observed walking in a parking lot. The female was placed in custody and later held to appear by video remand.

Warrant Execution
Theresa A. Angus, 44, of Akwesasne was arrested June 17th, 2020 for outstanding arrest warrants. On June 17th, 2020, the female attended the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Station and turned herself in. The female was arrested and held for a bail hearing. 

Impaired Operation, Assault Peace Officer
Arron White, 32, of Akwesasne was arrested on June 3rd, 2020 and charged with Impaired Operation and Assault Peace Officer. It is alleged on June 3rd, 2020 at approximately 4:40 PM, police received reports of a vehicle driving erratically in Tsi Snaihne (Snye). Police located the vehicle parked in the driveway of a private dwelling. Upon investigation the male was located in the driver seat and appeared to be sleeping. Police spoke to the male and immediately detected the signs of impairment. As the male was placed in custody he began shouting profanities and assaulted police. The male was released on conditions to appear in court at a later date. 

Failure or refusal to comply with order
Desiree Johnson, 28, of Akwesasne was arrested on May 30th, 2020 and charged with Failure or refusal to comply with order. It is alleged on May 30th, 2020 at 3:40 AM, police stopped a vehicle under the Akwesasne Emergency Curfew By-law. Police spoke to the female who admitted to consuming alcohol. The female was unable to provide a proper breath sample for an analysis. The female was placed in custody and released to appear in court at a later date.
