EMERGENCY FOOD PACKAGES — APRIL 10, 2020

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne Emergency Operation Center has instituted a process to provide a basic Emergency Food Package to community members in need. On Friday, April 10, emergency food packages can be picked up at each AMBE District School (Ahkwesahsne Mohawk School, Kana:takon School and Tsi Snaihne School) starting at 12 p.m. The hour of 11 a.m.-12 p.m. is reserved for elders pick up only.

Emergency food packages will be limited to ONE (1) per vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle; MCA staff will place the box into your vehicle in a drive-thru manner. The Emergency Food packages will have basic pantry supplies for a family and limited fresh foods based on supplies received. It will be first come, first served for community members in need.

Community Members in need line up at 12 p.m.
Note: One (1) food package per vehicle.


Elders in need or individuals with limited mobility (self-quarantine, etc.) are encouraged to call the Emergency Operation Center to make other arrangements, although you are also welcome to pick-up if you can safely do so. Please note resources are limited and priority will be given to those most in need.
