GRASSE RIVER PROJECT INFORMATION SESSIONS CANCELED

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) and Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) are informing the community that, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the public informational sessions held by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the Grasse River Project will not be held, in accordance with social distancing requirements.

The presentation that Arconic would have given at the public meetings has been uploaded to the website, www.thegrasseriver.com, under the “What’s New” tab. The presentation includes a project overview, review of work completed in 2019, planned 2020 activities, plans for air and water monitoring, and boating and swimming safety.

The Grasse River Project has been delayed and will commence later this month however, with the COVID-19 Pandemic, EPA is taking additional precautions and Arconic developed a comprehensive COVID-19 Project Health and Safety Plan. A summary of the plan will also be posted on www.thegrasseriver.com website prior to the in-river construction commencing in mid-May.

The schedule for future U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Open-House Information Sessions on the Grasse River Project will be shared once determined.
