New Construction
With the annual Indian Affairs allocation for new construction, we are able to approve twelve loan approvals in the amount of $46,566.66. Applicant's are approved based on the following criteria:
Criteria for Approval:
- Applicant must hold Certificate of Possession (C.P.) for land
- Applicant must be a member of the Mohawks of Akwesasne
- Applicant must provide blueprints for house
- Applicant must verify cost to build home
- Inspector / E.H.O. must verify land adequate for house construction
When all these requirements are met their names go onto a waiting list and is selected by date of application. Verified reports indicating health and safety concerns can move applicant to top of list but still must meet the criteria.
