INSTEM EDUCATOR LAND CAMP 2025

Land-based learning. Cultural connection. STEM with purpose.

 

 

Actua, in partnership with Virtual Ventures at Carleton University and Thompson Island Cultural Camp, invites educators to express interest in attending the 4th InSTEM Educator Land Camp — a transformative opportunity to explore the integration of Indigenous land-based knowledges into STEM education.

This free professional learning experience brings together educators and Indigenous Knowledge Holders for four days of hands-on learning, cultural exchange, and community building in Akwesasne.

📍 Location: Thompson Island Cultural Camp

📅 Dates: August 12–15, 2025

 

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

  • STEM educators, including K–12 teachers, pre-service teachers, administrators, and board consultants in Ontario.
  • Educators committed to improving how Indigenous youth experience STEM
Priority will be given to Indigenous educators and those from Akwesasne, Eastern Ontario, and Ottawa.

 

COST:


Attendance is free. Travel to the Ottawa rendezvous point is at participants’ own expense.
Travel support may be available for pre-service and Indigenous educators from outside Ottawa.
