MCA STILL FOLLOWING MASK MANDATE

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health (DOH) was provided notice on the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) statement that it was easing its guidance on mask-wearing for fully vaccinated individuals. MCA’s Department of Health is reminding community members that we follow the Eastern Ontario Health Unit’s (EOHU) mandates, and masks are still required under MCA’s jurisdiction.

Regardless of your vaccination status, masks are still required when in public settings, such as MCA office buildings and businesses in the northern portion of Akwesasne. Social distancing of up to 6-feet is still being followed when out in public as well. Please continue to adhere to the public health measures that have been put in place, as they were developed to keep our community safe.

Thank you/Niawenhkó:wa for your continued adherence to our public health and safety measures. For more information, please contact MCA’s Emergency Operation Centre between the hours of 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at 613-575-5005 ext. 3704 or 613-575-2331 ext. 3702, or via email at eoc@akwesasne.ca.
