Passenger Vehicle Border Survey For Three Nations Border Crossing
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, is preparing to conduct travel pattern surveys of travelers using the Three Nations international border crossing throughout August. The surveys will provide important information to support the Ministry of Transportation’s long-range planning initiatives and will support economic development and community planning for Akwesasne.
Surveys will be conducted at the CBSA Plaza beginning 12:00 am August 29 to 11:59 pm August 30.
Approximately 15 percent of traffic will be randomly asked to participate in the survey. Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services will provide traffic control for the survey and will direct motorists into clearly marked survey work zones. Participation in this survey is voluntary and the information provided cannot be used to identify you, your vehicle, or goods being transported. The Ministry has procedures in place to minimize delay for refusals, and non-participating traffic will not be delayed by the survey.
Please note motorists will be given a special card to be placed on their dashboard the first time that they are surveyed allowing them to bypass the survey line for all subsequent trips over the border.
