The Snye Recreation Committee kicked off this year’s Christmas Enchantment with the help of our totas and local law enforcement officers!

Elders from Iakhihsohtha Lodge, Tsiionkwanonhso:te, the SRMT Office for the Aging and throughout the community were invited to enjoy lunch and a special viewing of the holiday trees. The Akwesasne Child & Family Services Program joined officers from the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service, Canada Border Services Agency, US Border Patrol, and the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Police to assist in serving the meal to the totas.

Nia:wen to the holiday helpers who put this event on for community members to enjoy! Christmas Enchantment is the first holiday event being held in Akwesasne, followed by Spirit of Christmas (Kawehno:ke — December 6-8), Treasures of Christmas (Kana:takon — December 13-15), and the MCA district holiday dinners. ’Tis the season to come together as a community!
