UPDATE ON COVID-19 OUTBREAK AT TSIIONKWANONHSO:TE LTC FACILITY
In our ongoing effort to keep the community updated with the latest on the COVID-19 outbreak at the Tsiionkwanonhso:te Long Term Care Facility, we regret to inform the community that a third and fourth resident has passed. The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne sends its deepest condolences to the family for their loss.
With this announcement, the COVID-related death increases to four (4). Under Ontario Health, a death is reported as a COVID-19 death, whether or not COVID-19 was determined to be a contributing or underlying cause of death.
The current statistics for cases at the facility are as follows:
Total Cases of Tsiionkwanonhso:te residents: 13 residents
Total Resolved residents: 8 (4 fatalities, 4 recovered)
Total active residents: 5 active (as of January 11, 2021)
MCA extends its best wishes for a speedy recovery to all those infected, as well as appreciation to those isolating and quarantining to prevent the further spread of COVID-19. We also extend our sincerest appreciation to our frontline workers and long-term care staff who have remained diligent and dedicated during this most trying time.
We express our sincerest condolences to those who have lost a loved one.
