The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Department of Health is seeking qualified professionals or agencies to provide specialized mental health services, offering culturally informed, evidence-based care to support community members.

The Department plans to establish a roster of providers to meet diverse needs, including:

• Psychotherapy and Counselling
• Clinical Psychology
• Psychiatry
• Trauma and Crisis Response
• Addictions and Recovery Supports
• Culturally Based Healing and Wellness Services
• Digital Mental Health Solutions (e.g., telehealth, app-based monitoring)

This RFP is intended to expand service capacity and ensure continuity of care across MCA-operated health programs, including the Mental Health & Wellness Program, Addictions Outpatient Program, and other related health sites in Akwesasne and Cornwall.

The MCA Department of Health is seeking proposals from qualified Traditional Healers, Indigenous Wellness Practitioners, and Cultural Healing Organizations to deliver Traditional Medicine services for Akwesasronon between December 2025 and March 2026, with the potential for renewal.

The selected consultant will be responsible for:

• Expanding community access to culturally safe, trauma-informed, traditional healing services;
• Providing client choice among recognized Traditional Healers and wellness practices;
• Enhancing collaboration between community-based providers and the MCA Traditional Medicine Program.

All services must:

• Honour Indigenous Knowledge Systems and Akwesasne cultural protocols;
• Be trauma-informed, confidential, and compliant with MCA policies;
• Include monthly invoicing and brief service-utilization summaries.

The MCA Department of Health is seeking proposals from Indigenous organizations, cultural educators, healers, and community-based groups to design and deliver Land-Based Healing and Cultural Programming in Akwesasne.

This initiative aims to provide children, youth, adults, and families with meaningful, trauma-informed, and culturally safe wellness experiences that connect community members to culture and the land.

The MCA Department of Health is seeking proposals from qualified and licensed Chiropodists or Podiatrists to provide preventative and therapeutic foot care, education, and assessments to community members at MCA health facilities. The successful proponent will support holistic, culturally safe, and community-based healthcare.
