BY-ELECTION UPDATE FROM CHIEF ELECTORAL OFFICER

November 18, 2025

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has provided an update regarding the upcoming By-Election for Kana:takon and Kawehno:ke. Please be reminded that the By-Election will take place on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Voting for Kawehno:ke will be held at the Tri-District Elders Lodge, and voting for Kana:takon will be held at Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility.

The CEO will be out of the office on Thursday, November 20 and Friday, November 21, 2025 but will return to the office on Monday, November 24 at 8:00 a.m.

Voters Lists Are Posted At:

Kana:takon:

· Canada Post Office

· Village Currency

Kawehno:ke:

· Bank of Montreal

· Jock’s Kwik Stop

Community members are responsible for checking the posted voters lists to ensure they are registered to vote. If your name does not appear on your district’s list, please contact the CEO.

If the CEO is not in the office, Voting Registration Application forms are available in the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building foyer. Please complete both sides of the form, which includes Schedule G & H, and return the completed application to the CEO before 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025, in order to vote in this By-Election.

The final voters list will be posted after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2025. If your name does not appear on the final list, you will not be eligible to vote on December 13, 2025.

If you plan to vote in the Advanced Poll on Thursday, December 4 or Friday, December 5 (open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), please contact the CEO as soon as possible to schedule your preferred date and time.
