ONGOING SEARCH EFFORTS NEAR ADAMS MARINA
The Akwesasne Mohawk Police Service (AMPS) and the Hogansburg Akwesasne Volunteer Fire Department (HAVFD) are currently conducting an active search in the area of Adams Marina in Tsi Snaihne following reports of a person in distress.
At approximately 8:40 p.m., AMPS received a report of an individual yelling for help near the marina. The AMPS SAVE Unit responded immediately and, upon arrival, located an unattended Sea-Doo with its engine still running in the Snye Channel.
Shortly after, a male approached a nearby shoreline residence stating he had fallen into the water and needed assistance. The individual then left the area on foot before emergency crews could fully assess the situation.
Search efforts are ongoing. The SAVE Unit and HAVFD are actively searching the water and surrounding shoreline, while road patrol units are canvassing nearby residences, properties, and roadways.
At this time, it is unknown whether there are additional persons in the water.
Additional AMPS personnel have been deployed, and aerial support has been requested to assist with the search.
The public is asked to avoid the area and report any relevant information to AMPS immediately.
Further updates will be provided as information becomes available.
