2025 MCA HOLIDAY CLOSURE RESOURCES & INFORMATION

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s (MCA) Department of Community & Social Services and Department of Health is providing the community with resources and information for services available during MCA’s holiday closure, scheduled for December 25, 2025 – January 1, 2026. Most of MCA’s programs will be closed, with the exception of 24-hour facilities. The Ahkwesahsne Mohawk Board of Education (AMBE) schools and services will also be closed for the holiday week during this time. 

Proxim Pharmacy, located in the Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility (KHF), will be closed from December 25–26 and on January 1, in observance of Christmas, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day. If you have any questions on Proxim Pharmacy hours or services during the holiday closure, please call 613-575-1160.

Mental Health & Wellness’ Mental Health therapists will be available for on-call mental health crisis/distress services December 29–31, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Contact the Akwesasne Mohawk Police Services (AMPS) non-emergency line at 613-575-2340 to be transferred to an on-call mental health service provider.

Home and Community Care nursing will resume care for their caseloads as needed during the holiday closure. Personal Support Services will be closed Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1), but will resume service for complex care clients throughout the holiday closure.

Should your emergency be unrelated to a child and family services matter, please contact Central Dispatch at 613-575-2000.
