AMBE REGISTRATION FOR 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

The Ahkwesáhsne Mohawk Board of Education is announcing that student registration for the 2026–2027 school year will open on February 17, 2026, and close on April 24, 2026. Parents and guardians can enroll children in Headstart and K4 through Grade 8 at any of the three district schools: Ahkwesáhsne Mohawk School (AMS), Kana:takon School, and Tsi Snaihne School. 

Headstart Program

Eligibility Requirements:

• Child must turn 3 years old by September 30, 2026
• Must be fully toilet-trained (no exceptions)

Headstart applications can be picked up and submitted in person at:
AMBE Building Blocks
191 Rita Lane, Akwesasne, ON
Monday–Friday | 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Headstart registration sessions will also be available at Iohahi:io Akwesasne Education & Training Institute (dates to be announced).

K4–Grade 8

K4 Eligibility Requirement:

• Child must turn 4 years old by September 30, 2026
• Must be fully potty trained

Registration packets for K4–Grade 8 are available at each district school and the AMBE Board Office (169 International Road, Akwesasne, ON). Completed applications must be returned to the school or Board Office.

• 2026–2027 Registration Form
• Copy of Child’s Birth Certificate
• Copy of Child’s Health Card
• Copy of Child’s Status Card
• Copy of Child’s Immunization Record or Waiver

• Online registration is not available at this time.
• Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
