FROM TREE TO BASKET WORKSHOP
Join the Akwesasne Family Wellness Program for a 4-day hands-on workshop instructed by Angello Johnson of Good Mind Design. Participants will learn the traditional process of creating a black ash basket, from identifying black ash trees to weaving a finished basket, while gaining knowledge rooted in culture, sustainability, and tradition.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN:
- Identifying black ash trees and understanding sustainable harvesting practices
- Learning about the impacts of the Emerald Ash Borer
- Pounding logs and preparing splints
- Weaving and completing a traditional black ash basket
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Participants must be available to attend all four days
- Limited to 12 participants
- Participants will be selected through a random draw
