CELEBRATION OF LIFE: HEALING OUR FIRE

The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program invites you to the 25th Annual Celebration of Life Conference!

This year’s theme, Healing Our Fire: A Conference for Indigenous Men & Boys, shines a light on the strength, identity, and well-being of our men and boys. By supporting them, we nurture their leadership, resilience, and cultural connection — uplifting not only individuals, but families, communities, and future generations.

The conference will feature keynote speakers:

  • Thosh CollinsAn Onk Akimel O’Odham, Osage, and Seneca family man, actor, author, and community health educator from the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Community in Arizona. Thosh is a wellness facilitator with the Native Wellness Institute and co-founder of Well For Culture, a social enterprise applying the Seven Circles wellness model to Native communities. His work focuses on restoring male Indigeneity, guiding men’s groups and workshops that promote leadership, intergenerational healing, and total wellness.
  • Albert “Spiritman” DoxtatorA respected Oneida Nation traditional learner, storyteller, and cultural wellness consultant rooted in Haudenosaunee teachings. Albert guides healing through ceremony, storytelling, and land-based practices, fostering spiritual resilience and community wellness. A youth panel will also share perspectives and experiences throughout the event.
