AKWESASNE LANGUAGE FAIR

Join Akwesasne Child & Family Services, MCA Traditional Medicines, and AMBE Mohawk Language & Culture for a day of connection, learning, and celebration as we honour our language and the people who carry it forward. The Akwesasne Language Fair brings together elders, families, learners, and community members to share stories, experiences, and teachings rooted in Kanien’kéha.

Throughout the day, participants will have opportunities to hear from elders and families about their language journeys, learn more about local language and culture programs, and take part in meaningful discussions and cultural activities that highlight the role of language in identity, family, and future success.

In recognition of International Mother Language Day, this gathering reflects on the importance of protecting and revitalizing Indigenous languages for generations to come. Lunch, dinner, prizes, and moments of shared learning will all be part of the experience.
