AKWESASNE RECYCLING REMINDERS

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne kindly reminds all residents in the three districts to follow proper curbside recycling guidelines. Your cooperation helps ensure a smooth and efficient pickup process for everyone in our community.

Recyclables must be set out in one of the following ways:

1. In your designated recycling bin; or
2. In a clean, dry cardboard box; or
3. In a clear/translucent bag

Please note: Recycling placed in solid black or white garbage bags will not be accepted, as it cannot be inspected or properly sorted.
     

The following items do not belong in your recycling:

🚮 Garbage

• Toilet paper
• Liquids / spittoons (empty contents first, then place in garbage)
• Soiled pizza boxes
• Grease
• Cat litter

🌱 Compost:

• Food
• Dirt
• Branches
• Coffee grounds

Important: Items from the above lists placed in recycling will not be picked up.
