COMMUNITY MEMBERS INVITED TO CONSULTATION SESSIONS ON THE CHILD RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES LAW, ENIETHIHSWANÓN:NA

The Child Rights and Responsibilities Law, Eniethihswanón:na, Working Task Group (WTG) invites community members to participate in upcoming Community Consultation Sessions being held in each District. 

These sessions are part of Phase III of the Akwesasne Legislative Enactment Procedural Regulation (ALEPR) and provide an opportunity for community members to share their comments, questions, and concerns regarding the current draft of the law. 

Upcoming Consultation Sessions: 

April 27 – Tsi Snaíhne District 
Tsi Snaíhne Recreation Center | 5:30 p.m. 

May 21 – Kaná:takon District 
Kaná:takon Recreation Center | 5:30 p.m. 

June 8 – Kawehnó:ke District 
AMBE Building Blocks (191 Rita Lane, Kawehno:ke) | 5:30 p.m.  

In addition to these meetings, the WTG will continue outreach through local events, schools, Senior Centers, and other community spaces to ensure voices from all age groups and all areas of Akwesasne are heard. 

Once the final consultation session is scheduled, a deadline for submitting comments will be announced, with a minimum of four weeks’ notice.
