COOLING STATIONS OPEN AUGUST 11–12

With high temperatures and humidity expected, community members are encouraged to take precautions during the heat wave. To help keep Akwesasronon safe and cool, designated cooling stations will be open for anyone needing a break from the heat.
🗓 Monday, August 11 – Wednesday, August 13
🕐 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
📍 Akwesasne Homemakers, Snye
📍 Tri-District Elders, Kawehno:ke
Community members of all ages are welcome.
From Monday to Tuesday, kids can cool off and have fun on inflatable waterslides beside the Tri-Distrist Elders Lodge — courtesy of Bounce and Bounce, so don’t forget your bathing suit! 
Nia:wen to the Department of Community and Social Services for providing refreshments.
Heat Safety Tips:
• Drink water regularly — even if you’re not thirsty.
• Limit outdoor activities and stay in the shade or indoors.
• Check in on elders and neighbours.
• Keep pets cool and hydrated.
