DELAYS IN ESTATE APPOINTMENT LETTERS FROM ISC

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Office of Vital Statistics (OVS) would like to inform the community that wait times for appointment letters to act as an Executor or Administrator for an estate through Indigenous Service Canada (ISC) are currently longer than usual.

Due to staff shortages at ISC, it may take up to eight months to receive these appointment letters.

We kindly ask for your patience during this time. If you have not received communication from ISC after eight months, please contact the Office of Vital Statistics and ask for the Estates Facilitator at 613-575-2250 ext. 1018.
