MCA ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT OF VALERIE CREE-COOK

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne (MCA) would like to recognize and celebrate the retirement of Valerie (Val) Cree-Cook, who will be concluding her time with the Department of Community and Social Services as Associate Director on April 24, 2026. 

Throughout her career, Valerie has served in various leadership roles, including Acting Director of DCSS, and has been a dedicated and respected presence within the department. Her work has been grounded in a strong commitment to supporting staff, strengthening services, and ensuring the well-being of the community. 

Valerie’s leadership, knowledge, and steady guidance have made a lasting impact. She has been someone many could rely on for support, direction, and encouragement, and her contributions will continue to be felt moving forward. 

Valerie will be deeply missed by colleagues and all those who had the opportunity to work alongside her.
