MCA GENERAL MEETING NOW HELD QUARTERLY
Please be advised that the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne General Meetings will be moving from a monthly schedule to a quarterly schedule, effective January 2026. This update was first shared with the community during the October District meetings, along with the January District Meetings.
The first quarterly General Meeting will be held on:
Thursday, January 29, 2026
Location: Tsi Snaihne Recreation
Following this meeting, MCA General Meetings will continue on a regular quarterly basis between districts, in accordance with MCA Council Regulations.
This change is intended to allow for more meaningful and comprehensive updates to be shared with the community, improve attendance and participation, while still maintaining transparency and accountability.
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is also exploring hosting at least one General Meeting on a Saturday each year to better accommodate a variety of community schedules.
Please note that:
- Additional Focus Meetings will be held throughout the year on specific topics or priorities; and
- District Meetings will continue to be held monthly in each district.
