MCA GREEN FOOD BAG PROGRAM: UPDATED PICKUP LOCATIONS
Supporting healthy living in Akwesasne, one bag at a time.
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Community Health Services is pleased to continue offering the Tetewatska:hon – Green Food Bag Program. Each month, Akwesasró:non can purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, and pantry staples for just $20 per bag (limit of 2 bags per person). Quantities are limited, so be sure to order early.
📍 Pick up your bag at any of the three district locations:
- Kana:takon Recreation Center
- Akwesasne Homemakers
- A’nowara’ko:wa Arena or Kawehno:ke Recreation Center (schedule may vary)
Distribution is held from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Important: When ordering, you must specify your pick-up location. If none is indicated, it will default to Kana:takon.
🍎 Each bag may include a variety of fresh produce such as apples, potatoes, carrots, onions, bananas, cucumbers, lettuce, and more.
💰 Payments can be made by cash at Community Health Services (Kanonhkwa’tsheri:io Health Facility) or by e-transfer to etransfer@akwesasne.ca. When sending an e-transfer, please include “Green Food Bag,” the month, your name, contact number, and pick-up location in the message.
Participants are asked to bring their own reusable bags, as bags will not be provided.
