MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS SECTOR WELCOMES NEW PSYCHOTHERAPIST, KELLY RUEST

The MCA Department of Health’s Mental Health & Wellness (MHW) Sector would like to extend a warm welcome to its new Psychotherapist, Kelly Ruest. Kelly is a Registered Social Worker/Psychotherapist with a Ph.D. in Sociology.

Kelly specializes in narrative psychotherapy and emotionally focused (EFT) couples counselling. She has been practicing psychotherapy for over five (5) years. Her gentle trauma-informed approach also includes music therapy and brain-based approaches to work, specifically the nervous system.

Community social work is at the heart of Kelly’s practice, with over 25 years of experience in providing developmental service supports to children (age 0-18), adults, and families. She has experience with infant development, case management, and behaviour consultation.

Kelly has a love of teaching and learning, and her educational background includes research in the areas of women and gender studies, life transitions, policy and administration, and mental. Health.

When she is not at work, Kelly enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature, gardening, reading, cross-country skiing, swimming, and kayaking.
