TRADITIONAL GOOSE COOKING WORKSHOP

Get ready to learn the art of cooking Canadian goose the traditional way! Thompson Island Cultural Camp (TICC) is hosting a two-day hands-on workshop on November 1–2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the A’nowara’ko:wa Arena on Kawehno:ke (Cornwall Island).

Join Gerald and Wynona Chum from Moose Cree First Nation as they teach three delicious methods for preparing goose: smoked, fire-roasted, and Geeshtabon. On the final day, enjoy a shared goose feast to celebrate the weekend’s hard work!

This outdoor workshop, held by the yurt on the arena grounds, is open to everyone — no registration required. Dress warmly and comfortably, and don’t miss out on lunch provided for the first 40 participants each day.
