UNOFFICIAL RESULTS AKWESASNE MEMBERSHIP BOARD  KANA:TAKON BY-ELECTION NOMINATIONS 

The Akwesasne Membership Board held nominations today, Saturday, February 21, 2026, for two open seats in the districts of Kana:takon.  

 

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Cheryl Jacobs has released the following UNOFFICIAL list of nominees.  

 

UNOFFICIAL NOMINATIONS FOR THE DISTRICT OF KANA:TAKON  

Two (2) seats are available for the remainder of the term ending October 7, 2027.  

 

 

Nomination packages will be delivered to candidates by the Deputy Electoral Officers (DEOs) on February 21, 2026. If the candidate is not available to receive the package, they must arrange to pick it up no later than Monday, February 23, 2026, from Cheryl Jacobs, CEO, at the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building in the village of Kana:takon.  

 

Candidates have until Friday, February 27, 2026 no later than 2:00 p.m. to accept their nomination. The official list of candidates will be released once verified by the CEO.  

If needed, a by-election will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026.
