UPDATED MCA MARCH 2026 MEETING SCHEDULE

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne would like to inform the community of updates to the upcoming Council meeting schedule. 

The Kana:takon District Meeting has been rescheduled due to scheduling conflicts and will now take place on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the atrium of the Kanonhkwa'tsheri:io Health Facility. 

In addition to the regular Council meeting schedule, two community meetings have also been added and are open to all community members. 

A Special General Meeting will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Kana:takon Recreation. During this meeting, Grand Chief and Council will provide information to the community regarding a recent matter. The Special General Meeting will be held as a hybrid event (in-person and virtual). To receive the meeting link, please email meetings@akwesasne.ca. Questions and comments may also be submitted to this email in advance for Council to address during the meeting.  

A Grand Chief Community Meeting will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation. During this meeting, the Grand Chief will provide updates, offer clarity on current matters, and share his work plan moving forward. 

The MCA Focus Meeting will proceed as scheduled on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation, focusing on the Akwesasne Child Rights & Responsibilities Law. 

The Kana:takon District Meeting, MCA Focus Meeting, and the Grand Chief Community Meeting will be held in person only.
