VOICES OF STRENGTH GATHERING BRINGS COMMUNITY TOGETHER

The Voices of Strength Gathering brought community members together in a space grounded in healing and mutual support. Hosted by the Akwesasne Community Justice Program (ACJP), the event was centered on strengthening healthy relationships and encourage positive connections among Akwesasró:non.

Held on March 12, 2026, at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation Center, the day began with a morning session featuring guest speakers Harvey Herne and Karatoten "Pray" Lazore of the Seven Dancers Coalition. The speakers shared important perspectives on domestic violence awareness and spoke about the role men can play in building respectful, positive relationships within the community. 

In the afternoon, participants took part in a fan-making workshop led by Ian Clute of Two House Design-Crafters. The hands-on activity encouraged creativity and cultural expression, with each participant creating a fan that reflected their own unique style.
