Akwesasne Family Wellness Program

Akwesasne Family Wellness Program

The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program (AFWP) is dedicated to providing a safe, supportive environment for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and those at risk. Our mission is to offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and accessible services for women, men, non-binary individuals, and children affected by abuse, including domestic violence, human trafficking, and other forms of harm.

Through our program, we empower survivors on their healing journeys by combining modern services with traditional cultural teachings. We aim to promote safety, dignity, and resilience for all individuals, families, and communities in Akwesasne.

AFWP Services Include:
  • 6-Week Residential & Non-Residential Programs: Support for women, men, and children who have experienced abuse, including domestic, physical, mental, emotional, sexual, self-harm, and human trafficking.
  • 24-Hour Support Line: Immediate, confidential support and resources.
  • Safety Planning & Advocacy: Helping individuals assess risks and develop personalized safety strategies.
