The Mohawk Government Program plays a vital role in assisting the Council and supporting the community by providing a range of essential services. These services include:
- Residency Letters: Official letters confirming residency status.
- French Translation: Providing translation services for documents and communication.
- Quebec Liaison Support: Serving as a bridge for interactions between Akwesasne and Quebec.
- Community Meeting Coordination: Organizing various community meetings such as General, District, and Focus meetings.
- Political Assistance: Offering guidance and support on political matters and facilitating communication between the community and Council.
To apply for a residency letter, applicants must provide the following:
- Basic Information
- Status Card Number (if applicable)
- Proof of Residency: An electricity or phone bill in the applicant’s name showing the address, or a signed affidavit from the individual whose name appears on the utility bill.
