AMBE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OFFICIAL NOMINATIONS 

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has released the following OFFICIAL list of nominees for the Ahkwesáhsne Mohawk Board of Education (AMBE) Board of Trustees. 

Nominations were held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, for the following seat: 

• One (1) 3-year term – District of Kana:takon 

Both nominees submitted their nomination packages as of 13 August 2026, to the office of the C.E.O.   

The Chief Electoral Officer hereby declares that an election for the District of Kanatakon for one seat on the AMBE Board of Trustees will be held on Saturday, August 29th, 2026 from 9;00 am to 12:00 pm (noon), at the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building, 15 Akwesasne Street, Kana:takon.

Here is the official list of candidates as released by the Chief Electoral Officer. 

The Advanced Polls will be held on August 24 and 25, 2026, by appointment only, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Angus Mitchell Memorial Building (Canada Post Building). Kanatakon residents please check the voters lists located at the Canada Post Office and the Village Currency to ensure you are on the list to vote. The deadline to register to vote will be August 27th by 12:00 pm (Noon).
