RFQ: EXTERNAL AUDIT SERVICES
DESCRIPTION:

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is inviting proposals from qualified firms to provide external audit services. The audits will review MCA’s consolidated financial statements and related reports to ensure they fairly reflect the organization’s financial position in accordance with Canadian public sector accounting standards.

RFP: SNYE DAYCARE GENERATOR INSTALLATION
DESCRIPTION:

The MCA Department of Infrastructure, Housing & Environment (DIHE), through HSP Consultants Inc., is requesting proposals for their Snye Daycare Generator Installation project.

The work includes the supply and installation of a 22 kW propane standby generator system complete with automatic transfer switch (ATS), concrete pad, propane tie-in, trenching, grounding, commissioning, and all related civil and electrical work.

RFP: TRAUMA-INFORMED CULTURAL PROGRAMMING FOR YOUTH
DESCRIPTION:

The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program (AFWP) is seeking proposals from qualified facilitators, knowledge keepers, and organizations to deliver trauma-informed cultural programming for Akwesasró:non youth ages 0–24.

This initiative aims to strengthen identity, foster resilience, and create safe, healing-centered spaces for our youth through culturally relevant activities.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Examples of Programming (not limited to):

  • Healing circles
  • Cultural crafts and traditional skills
  • Kanien’kéha (Mohawk language) classes
  • Storytelling, song, or traditional teachings
  • Land-based learning and outdoor activities

Applicants are asked to submit a proposal that includes:

  1. Program description – activities, intended outcomes, and how programming will be trauma-informed.
  2. Target age group(s) – specify if programming is for children, youth, young adults, or all.
  3. Facilitator qualifications/experience – highlight cultural knowledge, training, or relevant experience.
  4. Budget – including facilitator fees, materials, and other costs.
  5. Timeline – proposed schedule and duration of programming.

Eligibility:

  • Open to individual facilitators, community members, or organizations with demonstrated knowledge and experience in cultural and/or trauma-informed work with youth.
  • Must be able to deliver programming in the community of Akwesasne.

RFP: TRAUMA-INFORMED CULTURAL PROGRAMMING & PRACTITIONER SERVICES
DESCRIPTION:

The Akwesasne Family Wellness Program (AFWP) is inviting proposals for trauma-informed cultural programming and practitioner services for Akwesasronon adults (ages 25 and older). These programs aim to support healing, reconnection, and community wellness through creative and traditional practices.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Examples of Programming (not limited to):

  • Beading or basketry workshops
  • Wampum teachings and oral history
  • Cornhusk dolls or ribbon work
  • Language, storytelling, or cultural expression
  • Any cultural practice that strengthens identity, connection, and holistic wellness

Practitioner Proposals are sought from healers, artists, language speakers, ceremonial leaders, and knowledge holders — including those with lived experience — who wish to facilitate trauma-informed sessions for the community.

Examples include:

  • Hair combing ceremonies and teachings
  • Sweat lodge or healing circle facilitation
  • Tea leaf reading or plant medicine teachings
  • Ribbon work, cornhusk dolls, or beading workshops
  • Language, storytelling, or creative healing sessions
  • Any practice that promotes identity, belonging, and wellness

Open to community members, artists, healers, and knowledge keepers.

Each proposal should outline the activity, intended participants, materials, timeline, and estimated costs.
