MCA SERVICE DAY BRINGS COMMUNITY SERVICES TOGETHER
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne extends a heartfelt nia:wen to everyone who joined us for MCA Service Day on August 20 at A’nowara’kó:wa Arena!
The event provided community members with an opportunity to connect with a variety of MCA departments, programs, and services in one convenient location, with extended hours to make accessing services easier. Throughout the afternoon, community members were able to complete applications, make payments, register for programs, update information, ask questions, and connect directly with MCA staff.
From registration and membership services to health and wellness, housing and finance, education and employment, justice and legal services, environmental programs, senior services, and community resources, Service Day brought a wide range of supports together under one roof.
The event also provided an opportunity for community members to learn more about available programs and resources, including the Green Food Bag Program, community communication resources, employment opportunities, housing services, and other initiatives.
We are grateful to the many MCA departments, programs, staff, and community partners who contributed their time and expertise to make the event possible. Their efforts helped create a welcoming and accessible space for community members to get the information and assistance they needed.
Most importantly, nia:wen to everyone who attended and made MCA Service Day a success. Your participation and feedback help us continue finding ways to make MCA services more accessible and responsive to the needs of our community.
We look forward to building on the success of Service Day and creating more opportunities to connect with Akwesasró:non in the future.
