50 YEARS OF STRENGTH & INSPIRATION
2025 marks 50 years since the first women joined the police forces in the province of Quebec. Recent events, such as those mentioned by the Association des directeurs de police du Québec, highlight this milestone, particularly in relation to the collective progress of women in various roles within Quebec's policing organizations. The anniversary also draws attention to the ongoing transformation of policing culture, a topic that continues to shape discussions throughout the province.
This 50th anniversary celebrates:
- A culmination of a movement: Recognizing the achievements and lasting impact of women in police work across Quebec over the past five decades.
- Transformative influence: Highlighting how women’s growing presence has shaped police culture, from recruitment and career paths to evolving community engagement strategies.
- Progress and dialogue: Providing a platform to reflect on the past, celebrate accomplishments, and encourage continued conversations about the future of community policing and the vital role of women in Quebec’s policing organizations.
