A WEEK OF LEARNING ON THE LAND – ACFS CULTURE CAMP
The Akwesasne Child & Family Services (ACFS) Traditional Support Team hosted another exciting week filled with cultural teachings, land-based learning, and adventure!
From August 11-13, Akwesasró:non youth spent time at Thompson Island Cultural Camp, taking part in a variety of fun and meaningful activities, including water teachings, tobacco pouch making, plant identification, and much more. To wrap up the adventurous week, the youth took a day trip to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake, followed by a refreshing swim at Meacham Lake!
A heartfelt niawenhkó:wa to ACFS’s Traditional Support Team and everyone who helped make this year's Culture Camp such an exciting, meaningful, and safe experience for our youth. From ACFS staff and presenters, to those who supported youth at Thompson Island, your time and contributions helped create lasting memories and meaningful opportunities for our youth to connect with culture, the land, and one another.
