EXPERIENCING LIFE THROUGH A LENS

A few of our Akwesasró:non youth are exploring the art of photography through a 10-week workshop that introduces them to photography techniques, hands-on experience, and potential career opportunities in the field.

Made possible by the Akwesasne Child & Family Services (ACFS), and led by Laurie Gardner, the workshop gives participants the opportunity to develop their photography skills while learning to capture meaningful moments through the lens. To support their learning, ACFS has provided each participant with a Canon EOS camera and photography supplies, allowing them to gain practical experience throughout the program.

As the workshop wraps up at the end of the year, participants will take home their cameras along with the knowledge and skills they have gained. Beyond learning the art of photography, the youth are building a foundation they can continue to develop and explore in the future.

A niawenhkó:wa to the Akwesasne Child & Family Services for continuing to create meaningful opportunities that encourage our youth to learn, grow, and explore new possibilities for their future.
