COMMUNITY CONSULTATION MEALS ON THE AKWESASNE CHILD RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES LAW: ENIETHIHSWANÓN:NA

The Working Task Group (WTG) for the Child Rights and Responsibilities Law, Eniethihswanón:na, is pleased to announce the continuation of Community Consultation Sessions in each district.    

This round of consultations will be held over dinner, providing community members with an opportunity to learn about and share their views on the history, development, and implementation of this law. All meals will be provided by one of Akwesasne's delicious catering services and will be served on a first come, first served basis.

The WTG has been in Phase III of the Akwesasne Legislative Enactment Procedural Regulation (ALEPR), Community Consultation, since March 2026. Consultation sessions have been held in each district and at various community venues to help ensure input is gathered from all demographics within Akwesasne.  

Community outreach and consultation efforts will continue. Once the remaining consultation dates are confirmed, the WTG will publicly announce the meeting details and establish a deadline for comments, providing at least four weeks' notice.
