AEL INFORMATION SESSION POSTPONED
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne is informing the community that due to the recent passing of community members and out of respect for their families, the Information Session on the Akwesasne Election Law (AEL) Referendum scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, January 6, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation Centre has been postponed. We extend our sincere condolences to the families and loved ones during this difficult time.
The session will now take place at the Tsi Snaihne Recreation Centre on Thursday, January 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn about the Referendum process and gain a better understanding of the background of the ballot question.
Please note that an additional Information Session is also scheduled for Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the Kana:takon School.
