AKWESASNE CHEERS ON THE JR. B THUNDER AS THEY BEGIN THEIR PLAYOFF RUN
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne extends its congratulations to the Akwesasne Jr. B Thunder on an outstanding regular season in the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League (OJBLL).
The Thunder completed the season with a perfect 20-0 record, earning the #1 overall seed heading into the playoffs.
Throughout the season, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork, finishing among the league's top offensive teams with 243 goals scored and posting the best power play percentage in the East Division.
We would also like to recognize Alex Delormier on an exceptional individual season. Alex finished second overall in OJBLL scoring with 110 points, recording 58 goals and 52 assists in 20 games. Finishing just one point behind the league leader, Alex's performance stands as one of the top offensive campaigns in the league this year.
In addition, congratulations to Xavier Delormier for leading the OJBLL in goaltender wins this season. His consistency and strong play between the pipes were key factors in the Thunder's perfect regular season and helped establish the team as one of the league's top contenders heading into the playoffs.
While we are proud to recognize these individual achievements, the Thunder's remarkable season was made possible by the dedication and contributions of every player on the roster. Together with the coaching staff, trainers and supporters, they have demonstrated what can be accomplished through teamwork and hard work.
As the Thunder begin their playoff journey and continue their pursuit of the Founders Cup, we wish them the very best of luck. Your hard work has made the entire community proud, and we look forward to cheering you on in the postseason.
On behalf of the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne and the community, congratulations on an unforgettable regular season.
