APPEAL FILED ON AKWESASNE ELECTION LAW REFERENDUM

The Chief Referendum Officer (CRO) is informing the community that as of Friday, February 6, 2026, an appeal has been filed with the Akwesasne Mohawk Court regarding the Akwesasne Election Law Referendum, MCR 2024-2025 #101 Section 16.2(a) that was held on Saturday, January 31, 2026. 

As a result of the appeal, the Chief Referendum Officer's results published will remain 'unofficial' pending the outcome of an Akwesasne Mohawk Court decision.
