BY-ELECTION UPDATE

The Chief Electoral Officer is notifying the District of Kana:takon that Leonard “Lenny” Oakes, Jr. has officially withdrawn from the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne By-Election taking place this Saturday, December 13, 2025.

In accordance with Akwesasne Election Law, Section 9.(14), his name will remain on the ballot.
