CELEBRATING STRENGTH & SOBRIETY: RAUN "MOON" MITCHELL

For National Addictions Awareness Week, MCA’s Mental Health & Wellness Services is honoring Akwesasne community members who have chosen sobriety — their courage and commitment inspire us all! Each day, we’ll spotlight a local hero who reminds us that recovery is possible and worth celebrating.

🌟 Today’s Spotlight: Raun “Moon” Mitchell

"I choose sobriety because I was lost. I needed to find my spirit and myself,” says Raun. “When I went to meetings and talking circles, I was able to share and relate to people. As I take life one day at a time, my life became easier. I enjoy bringing awareness and prevention work to others.”

Nia:wen/Thank you, Raun, for being a community leader and example, and for choosing a life of sobriety. Your journey lights the way for others!

Let’s celebrate resilience, hope, and healing together! Stay tuned for more inspiring stories throughout the week.
