SAVE THE DATE: ORANGE SHIRT DAY AT LAMOUREUX PARK
The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, in collaboration with the Native North American Travelling College, City of Cornwall, and Children's Aid Society of SD&G, invites the community to join us for an afternoon of reflection, learning, culture and connection in honour of Orange Shirt Day.
The event will take place on September 30, 2026, from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Lamoureux Park in Cornwall.
The afternoon will feature:
- Residential school history
- Immersive cultural sharing
- Traditional teachings
- Social dancing
Indigenous vendors are welcome to participate at no cost! To register, please email julia.benedict@akwesasne.ca by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026. Please note that all unregistered vendors coming to this event will be asked to leave to maintain compliance with City of Cornwall By-Laws.
