DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY & SOCIAL SERVICES WELCOMES NEW ACTING ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT FOR SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM

The MCA Department of Community & Social Services (DCSS) would like to extend a warm welcome to its new Special Needs Program’ Acting Administrative Assistant Miyah Oakes-Laffin. 

Miyah was born and raised in Akwesasne and is a recent graduate of St. Lawrence College, where she completed a three-year Business Administration program. Miyah maintained a place on the Dean’s List for all three years, demonstrating dedication and excellence to her studies. She is also a graduate of Salmon River Central High School.

During her studies, Miyah developed a strong foundation in organization, communication, and business operations. Through her co-op placement, she gained hands-on experience in and office environment. Her placement experience allowed her to build practical skills and opened the door to new professional opportunities and endeavours.

She is excited to begin this new chapter and looks forward to applying her knowledge and skills, gaining further experience, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally.
