DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY & SOCIAL SERVICES WELCOMES NEW ACTING ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF ACFS

The MCA Department of Community & Social Services (DCSS) is pleased to announce Jon Michael Lazore as the Acting Associate Director of the Akwesasne Child & Family Services (ACFS) within the DCSS.

Jon Michael began his career with DCSS in 2015 at the Ionkwanonhsasetsi Adolescent Treatment Center (IATC) as a Summer Student, Case Aide, and later as a Case Supervisor supporting Indigenous youth in their wellness journeys. In 2019, he joined Akwesasne Child & Family Services, where he has held several roles including Band Representative, Case Manager, Youth Delegate, Ongoing Services Supervisor, and most recently Service Manager of Protection.

He holds a diploma in Police Foundations and a Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work specializing in Indigenous Trauma and Resiliency.
