DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY & SOCIAL SERVICES WELCOMES NEW SPECIAL NEEDS PROGRAM MANAGER

The MCA Department of Community & Social Services (DCSS) would like to extend a warm welcome to its new Special Needs Program’s Manager, Alicia Hill. Alicia has been serving as Acting Program Manager since September 2025.

Alicia was born and raised in Akwesasne. She graduated from Massena High School before beginning her post-secondary education endeavour with St. Lawrence College with a double major in Office Administration in the Medical and Legal Fields. She completed one year of Early Childhood Education certification, while also changing schools and education fields to focus on attaining her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in Public Administration. She is expected to complete her program in May 2027.

Alicia started with the Mohawk Council of Akwesasne in July 2021 as the Administrative Assistant to the Director of Health. She moved into DCSS to serve as the Executive Assistant to the Director in 2022 where she served in that role until attaining her Acting Program Manager assignment in 2025, upon where she became the successful candidate to be the permanent Program Manager of the Special Needs Program.

Alicia is truly honoured to be chosen to fill the position of Program Manager and will continue to serve the community to the fullest capacity.
