HELP US NAME OUR NEW STURGEON FRIEND

The Mohawk Council of Akwesasne’s Environment Program is inviting Akwesasne to help name its newest addition — a female sturgeon plushie that will be on display at the Native North American Travelling College (NNATC)!

Have a name in mind? Share your suggestion in the comments below or email your idea to robert.sawatis.env@akwesasne.ca by Friday, November 6, 2026.

Environment staff will then select five names to be shared for a community vote to determine the winner.

We look forward to seeing the creative names our community comes up with!
