CHECK YOUR HEART HEALTH — FREE SCREENING CLINIC ON SEPTEMBER 17

The MCA Department of Health's Clinical Care Services Sector, in partnership with the University of Ottawa Heart Institute (OHI) and the Seaway Valley Health Centre, will offer a free heart valve screening clinic for community members 18 years of age and older on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at the Kawehno:ke Recreation Centre.  

The clinic is by appointment only, and pre-registration is required. Walk-in appointments will not be available.

Once the intake form has been completed, OHI staff will contact you with an appointment time. 

The risk factor screening will include: 

• Brief assessment
• Blood pressure check
• Rapid blood test
• Results and recommendations 

If you are age 50+ you may also receive two additional tests: 

• ECG (electrocardiogram)
• Mini heart ultrasounds
