FURRY FRIENDS, HEALTHY MINDS: HOW PETS SUPPORT OUR WELLNESS

This week, the MCA Mental Health & Wellness Team partnered with the Akwesasne Animal Society to spend time with AMS Health Club students — exploring the many ways animals contribute to our overall wellbeing. Students also learned meaningful ways they and their families can give back to this important local non-profit. 

How pets support our wellness: 

🐾 Physical Wellness: Encouraging daily movement through walks, play, and care routines.
🐾 Emotional Wellness: Helping us co-regulate and bringing calmness during stressful moments.
🐾 Mental Wellness: Reducing anxiety, boosting mood, and providing comfort and routine.
🐾 Spiritual Wellness: Deepening our connection to nature, responsibility, and the natural world.
